Electric Ultramarine

Electric Ultramarine

You are the boldest of all blues,

With your strong, loud, bold colour and name that fits oh-so well,

A young boy who was abandoned found joy in grief,

Batteries look up to you as an energy source and great power,

Dark slate blue wishes to be you for once,

As her dark colour sits in the shadows,

    Cold,

        Lonely,

             Scared,

But soon you will bring light to darkness,

The pain in your sorrow WILL be forgotten,

As you unwrap the gift of light in your heart,

Those who were once cold, dark blues, shall now have glee

Your sad story is still in the depths of your colour,

Your father left as you were a child for another colour,

As the time drifts away, no father, part time mother,

Your mother couldn’t see you suffer,

How royal blue she was,

Her heart couldn’t bear for your childhood to be so,

  So,

           So,

So miserable, so blue,

Amazingly fun, surprisingly happy,

How do you do it?

With the pain you’ve suffered, and the abandoned love,

You’ve managed to pick yourself up when you were put down,

How?

The word races through every colours minds,

Was it red that was by through the toughest times?

Was it orange who gave sunlight to your day?

How,

     How,

            How?

No one will ever know,

Your story, your life, has been a complete mess,

Other colours see cheerfulness and fun, if only they knew,

If only they knew…

A rain drop in the rain,

That’s who you used to be,

Now, you’re a beat in the music,

The one who keeps every blue together,

You may not be as happy and bright as Mr. Yellow,

You are not in the rainbow,

YOU are perfect, Electric Ultramarine,

Just perfect.
